The Balla Balla Community Centre in Cranbourne East, in conjunction with the City Of Casey recently installed this dazzling new playground. The playground is set to bring children of all ages together with a variety of activities.
The playground is designed around the Extreme unit, featuring traditional favourite activities such as the ring trek, rocky ramble, shop front, corkscrew climber, caterpillar slide and jumping jacks.
The Triple Infinity Climber and Freeride represent energetic and challenging equipment for the older children, while the ATV C-Spring Rider is a bright, bold colourful addition that appeals to younger children. The Extreme Swing suits all ages and features an infant seat and also a larger slash proof seat for older children.
The Community Centre is utilised by the local community for playgroups and school holiday programs and is a constant hive of activity and children. The design brief was therefore for a playground with a varied range of activities, especially to cater to younger children.
The stimulating all access Gear Panel with multi coloured gears creates a visual and auditory experience, whilst the Pirouette provides a fun balancing challenge.
Omnitech completed all aspects of the job, from design and installation of the playground equipment right through to the rubber under-surfacing, edging and landscaping. The rubber under-surfacing also features a bike track design on it, which the children never tire of riding around!
The Balla Balla Community Centre was opened in April 2007 and was named according to the Aboriginal words Balla meaning ‘resting’ or in some languages ‘mud’. In keeping with this cultural theme Omnitech also customised the colour scheme of the playground design to keep with traditional indigenous colours.
The Balla Balla Community Centre is a great example of how to incorporate many activities for all different age groups. It also demonstrates Omnitech’s ability to customise designs and site ancillaries to suit the client’s colour, environmental, or theme requirements. |
